Both roles are based at our Belmore depot with regular runs across the Sydney metropolitan area.
Tow Truck Driver
About the Role
You will operate one of our Hino 300/400 flatbed tilt tray trucks on daily runs across Sydney. The work covers the full range of towing operations; car towing, flatbed loading, breakdown recovery and accident scene response. You deal directly with customers at the roadside on every job; which means how you carry yourself matters as much as how you drive.
This is a busy full-time role with a consistent Monday to Saturday roster. You take ownership of the vehicle assigned to you; completing pre-trip checks, keeping it clean and coordinating with our mechanic for scheduled services and unscheduled repairs as they come up.
Responsibilities
- Towing all vehicle types; sedans, SUVs, AWD, prestige vehicles and non-runners on flatbed tilt tray
- Winch loading and safe recovery of non-running and accident-damaged vehicles
- Accident scene response alongside NSW Police and SIRA where required
- Insurance towing with direct billing to NRMA, AAMI, Allianz, QBE and all major insurers
- Pre-trip vehicle checks and maintaining the assigned truck in clean, roadworthy condition
- Taking the truck to our mechanic for scheduled services and as required for repairs
- Accurate job documentation and paperwork for every tow
- Professional, calm communication with customers at the roadside
Requirements
- HR (Heavy Rigid) driver’s licence minimum
- Current NSW Tow Truck Authority (TWL) licence; or a clear path to obtaining one before starting
- Clean driving record; no major traffic offences in the past 3 years
- Physically fit; the role involves outdoor work, manual handling and all-weather conditions
- Professional and reliable without needing close supervision
- Based in or willing to commute to Belmore, Sydney

Call Operator / Dispatcher
About the Role
You are the first voice a customer hears when they call Opal Towing. You handle inbound calls, dispatch drivers, keep customers updated on ETAs and make sure every job is logged and invoiced correctly. The role is entirely phone and laptop-based and can be performed from our Belmore office or remotely from home.
On a typical day you manage a steady flow of inbound calls, take job details, assign drivers based on location and availability, log every job into our management software, send invoices through the platform and handle customer inquiries coming in via WhatsApp alongside the phones. When it is busy you keep things moving without anything falling through the cracks.
Responsibilities
- Answering all inbound customer calls and taking job details accurately
- Dispatching available drivers to jobs based on location and priority
- Logging all jobs into the management software and keeping records current
- Sending invoices to customers through the management platform
- Managing customer WhatsApp inquiries alongside inbound phone calls
- Following up with customers on job completion and any outstanding matters
- Communicating ETAs and updates to both customers and drivers throughout the day
- Keeping management informed of any issues, delays or unusual situations as they arise
Requirements
- Fluent English with confident, professional communication; this is a phone-forward role and how you speak to customers matters
- Friendly, patient manner; you represent the business on every call
- Comfortable working across a phone and laptop simultaneously
- Able to learn job management and invoicing software quickly; prior dispatch or office coordination experience is a plus but not required
- Organised and calm under pressure; calls do not stop during business hours
- Sydney-based preferred; strong remote candidates considered
